St. Jude Mite blue and Bantam blue CHAMPIONS in SWSL

 May 17, 2009 - The St. Jude Bantam blue team and the St. Jude Mite blue teams won the SWSL Championship.  The SWSL takes the top four teams from each division into the playoffs.  Both St. Jude teams finished the SWSL spring season 6-4-0 and the bantam team made it into the playoffs in 3rd while the mite blue team took the final position as the 4th seed team. 

Mite Blue - After beating the 1st place team on Saturday, May 16th in a powerful 6-1 win against the Joliet Jaguars, the team believed they could win.  On Sunday in the Championship, the St. Jude mite blue team again came out strong and pulled off a tight win in a great3-2 win over the Chicago Hawks!!!  

Bantam Blue - The 3rd seeded Knights were too much for the Sabres #1 team to handle on the ice as they overcame them in a decisive 6-1 win on Saturday to move on to the Championship game.  In Sunday's championship game, the Knights came out on top in an exciting 3-2 win over the Joliet Jaguars. 

Congratulations to the players, coaches and managers of all Knight teams that participated in the SWSL.   Other Knights teams that made the playoffs are the Mite Green, Pee Wee White and Pee Wee Blue teams.
